Artist's Comments

Inspired by christmas cards that were cut out of paper. I wanted to combine that into with painting into my own art. I'm still not sure how this came out except that I want to go back to Africa really bad as I grew up there and it is a big part of my life, but why this image, I don't know. IT seems to be a little disturbing to some but oh well.. I hope people can get something from it.

hmm interesting comparison.. maybe because of the bold imagery? maybe because of the profile associated with them? I definitely hadn't associated the two...

well, maybe my influence is prone to juxtaposition because of the counter culture and African and Haitian art Ive studied, but the bold imagery is definetly something that rings true.

hmm, it is always interesting to see what other people caj associate art with though, it goves it more meaning and aspects! I should look into Haitian art, I donlt think I know anything of it. Thanks again!
